Default 1954

Not sure but I beleive I have posted here before. My first car 30 years ago was a 1954 Corvette. I did some repair and had it painted and I took off the VIN tag. I still have this tag. The number is E54S002510. If it still exists I would like to put the two back together. I sold it to Harry Mann Chevrolet in Los Angeles in 1966 and found that a serviceman owned it in 1970. Anyone out there have this vehicle?

Why would you pull the Vin tag off of the car? I find it hard to believe that a car dealership would take a car in on trade or buy a car that does not have a Vin Tag. Anyway I am glad that you are trying to put the two of them back together again. So you are looking for a 1954 Corvette that does not have an original Vin tag, I am sure there are some out there. I would have the person who contacts you show you pic of the Vin # from the frame to prove that the tag goes to there car. Good luck.

Back in those days, the title most likely would have used the engine ID number instead of the vin tag. Especially in CA.

Your first car thirty years ago (that would be 1982) is a car you sold to a dealer in 1966? That doesn't make sense.

Default Sorry

Sorry it was 50 years ago and who knows why a 16 year old does anything? I probably thought it looked better. I had it painted a metallic green over the white, put in black interior to replace the red, and took off the hubcaps and put on Cragers. Harry Mann Chevrolet painted it white again, left the black interior, and called it a 1953. The VIN tag I have came from the door jam.

Chris, he has the Vin tag so the car probably has a state issued Vin tag and number. I would guess that someone with a state issued Vin tag would be the person who this Vin tag belongs to. They would have to check the frame numbers on there car to know for sure.

Default Hope

Well thanks for trying. I hope the car still exists and may have a VIN issued by the state it is in. I will keep the tag as a reminder of good times. I also had a '60, '65, and '69 but the first always comes with memories.
