End of season fall tour pics
Hi,
Our NCRS chapter held an end of season tour with a couple of other local clubs last weekend, we had about 40 Vettes.
Most of the pictures were taken through the windshield of my '67, so they are a little fuzzy,my car still has the original windshield.
We had two blue '58's, what are the odds?
Apple picking
Gas stop, the station owner thought he died and went to heaven when 40 thirsty Vettes pulled up.

Some great shots there Paul, especially with the fall colours as a backdrop. Glad the weather was good for y'all.

Great pics, Paul - thanks for posting!
Looks like magnificent weather to match the season, cars, roads and most of all, group. Looks like everything was in order?
How many other C1/C2 owners in that group are active on these forums?

Thanks guys, it was fun.
We think we'll do it inter-club again next year, but breakup in to two groups and then meet at the end for supper.
It was difficult at times with 40 cars through the small towns etc. made for some slow going at various points...
Yes Paul there are normally a couple of the guys who post on the forum, Syd (gold63), and Mike Ward, but they weren't with us that day.
The sixth pic was created with a "draw" setting in my camera, I was sitting at the light and felt creative so I thought I'd try it out.
That's the official version anyway, the real story is that I hit the draw setting by accident when I was trying to check a previous pic, thought it looked 'kinda cool so I posted it.

As for the plate; up until 1978 our plates would change color every year, back then we had both front and back.
Every fall each DMV office would get a demo 0000 plate to hang on the wall showing the new color for that year.
As a kid I loved it, always excited to see what the new color would be, and my dad would give me his old ones as soon as the new ones came out, still have 'em.
The fellow with the '66 BB coupe collects and sells plates, he somehow got a stash of 'em for most years through the sixties, many local guys buy them as decorative front plates for their vintage cars now that we only run a back plate here.

Thanks for Sharing Those Great Pictures...
The autumn leaves are spectacular. Here on the back side of the Sierras, it's just starting to get cool in the mornings.
It must have been cool the day your group took a drive. We enjoy driving our 1966 Convertible with the top down as much as possible. Even when it's cool you can turn on the heater and get a nice blast of warm air that makes driving with the top down comfortable on all but the coldest days. I drove my car in the local Christmas Parade last year with temperatures in the high 30s and was quite comfortable.
