Default Another engine mounting question...

I have both motor mounts cut from the frame and need a measurement of what the angle is that the engine sits in reference to the ground. I know that the carb pad is 0* but with the mounts cut off and the engine on the hoist I only have the block to measure off of. Does anyone have a motor sitting in the frame with no intake on it that could provide this angle?

Thank you.

David

Installation angle is 3*, per Chevrolet Engineering specs.

John,

Thank you sir. Time to weld the mounts back in..

Jeff,

I pulled the motor so I could put the Tremec back in and while I have it out I've milled the heads, new main and rod bearings, thinner head gasket, headers and new side exhaust....

So what are you doing that you needed to cut the motor mounts out?

I contemplated redoing the mount horns to reposition the engine further rightward, but I ran out of clearance between the engine and the right upper a-arm.

The engine was not sitting in the frame correctly and was at an angle and the offset off center line was not correct as well. It required cutting both mounts off and moving the engine towards the passenger side.

What side exaust are you going with? I assume you do not want to cut up your stainless units to fit your headers.
