Default Differential interchangeability

Hey forum members, I need your help. Are there any GM differentials internal components that interchanged with the Corvette (63-79)? Nova / Camaro / Chevelle ? Pinion shaft? ring gear? differential case carrier ? differential pinion? drive pinion?

Picked up a used one and need a diff case carrier and might need to change out some other pieces parts.

Thanks for your help guys Craig

The Corvette diff is completely unique to that application; I think the only common parts might be the ring gear bolts.

I was afraid of that, guess I just have to keep traveling to the swap meets, combing Craig's list and keep my eyes open for the parts. Appreciate the information .

I have most of the pieces parts to complete a C2 / C3 differential except the diff carrier. I have been gradually getting pieces together and I am still in need of a posi carrier. Will a C4 diff carrier fit a C2 / C3? A new carrier is out of the question, $500 I am trying to piece a posi together, and learn a little bit in process. Any help will be appreciated. All of your input is greatly appreciated. Regards Craig

A C4 rear will not work in a C2/3 rear. To find a used posi unit from a C2/3 rear should not be that hard to find and that expensive if you don't care about a. Dates and codes

Nope. C2/C3 posi units were made by Eaton, C4 posi units were made by Dana; they share zero parts.

How "expensive" or "not" are you talking about?
