I have the Pertronix installed in the 67s distributor, I once read you could run a wider plug gap, but can't find that info. Anyone here use the Pertronix?, if so...what plug gap do you use?, I use AC R45S plugs, Thanks!...Greg
I installed a Pertronix Ignitor II & coil in my '56. The Pertronix documentation suggested increasing the original plug gap by .005. Seems to work fine for my application.

Re: Pertronix ?? (3VETTES@HOME)
Yep, if your using a hoter coil you can bump up that old gap. I,m using a Mallory unilite system in my old 73 cop motor 460 Thunderchicken with a MSD Blaster coil and running a .55 spark gap. Makes a big difference.
I have the original Ignitor and still use .035, but I am using resistor plugs on top of resistor wires on the Pertronix coil. I wouldn't do that to an old GM coil. Any one know if the original Ignitor can stand a wider gap?

........Yes I am running a hotter coil...so I will bump up the gap. Thanks! Greg
