Default Wheel ??

Can someone ID this wheel for me and put a value on it? It's marked 15x5 2 54.. It came on my '64 when I aquired it back in '78. Thanks.

looks like the 1955 style 15 x 5 rivited rim. Pretty common as most the 1955 chevys are runnig around with after market wheels. You see them on EBay all of the time for anywhere from $50-100. Don't know if they sell. I have a dozen or so in my garage. Good Luck!

That's exactly what it looks like to me, BUT, does it have the 4 nubs around the rim to retain the full wheel cover (56-62 style wheel covers or 55-56 pass car full wheel cover)?

If acid dipped (Muratic acid diluted with water 3:1) for about 1hr, rinsed off with a hi-pressure washer and blasted and painted it MAY make a decent wheel.
It would probably be OK for show/judging, but I'd be apprehensive about using it for serious driving.

If that is what this wheel is, then it was used on 54-55 pass cars and 55 Vettes (as well as possibly on 54 Vettes---------------the 53 wheel was different).
If you sell it as a Vette wheel, the value will be reduced because of the rust (depends on how well it cleans up), maybe $50-100. But as a pass car wheel, maybe $10-40.
The way it looks in the picture, I'd give $10-20 for it (mainly because of the rust in the bolt holes). But, if the bolt holes are not bad after rust removal, then maybe I'd give $50.
As mentioned, it looks like a 55 wheel (also 54) and there is not a giant demand for run of the mill 55 style wheels. In 56, the center hub changed slightly (which CANNOT be seen with a full wheel cover) and that style was used through 62.

Here is a comparrison between a 54-5 wheel (left) and a 56-later wheel. Notice the additional "ring" on the center hub of the 56-later wheel. Otherwise, they are 100% interchangeable.
