Default Door Latch Spring location

Doe anyone know where the spring is located that pushes the door ajar when the button is pushed? I have one door that when the door handle button is pushed you have to pull the handle to open the door it does not pop open.

Thanks For any help

Dave,
It sounds like your door is latching on the "first" click of the catch mechanism. There should be two clicks. When you close the door, you should feel it catch once (the door will not be all the way closed), then there should be a "second" click, and the door should be flush. When it is loaded on the second click, the spring on the catch mechanism (in the door), will push it ajar, when you push the button. If you keep the button pushed, it will go right past the second catch. To fix it, you need to adjust your jamb catch further outboard.

Thaks Mike, when I close the door it latches 2 times but no second click. When closed door is lined up flush and look correct. Checked the spring and it is ok, I guess it just need adj.

You know, I forgot that there is also a spring behind the nylon bumper on the jamb catch. It's at the top of the catch right under the top screw. That thing also helps to push the door out.
