Checking Intake Sealing
This is with a FelPro 1256 gasket and the bolts correctly torqued.
The problem was worse before I went to the 1256 gaskets. Now, with the 1256, much less oil pooling, oil stays cleaner because the exhaust crossover port was leaking, but still getting oil film on plug face and threads.
No idea how much material has been removed from the heads and deck over the years. These are 1965 vintage parts.
So, other than buying the check gage, what's the best way to see if there's a mismatch? TIA MIke.

remove carb and make a plate to bolt down in it's place on the intake with a hose fitting screwed into it
apply vacuum pump and check readings, this will tell you if the ports or gaskets are mis matched, if you are concerned about only an oil leak, that's a different story.....
