I have pic's of when I dropped the suspension and will bring out my camera tomorrow. I have installed the upper and lowers on the drivers side. WATCH out for ordering the steering rod adapter kit. I ordered from Wilcox which sent me a kit from Paragon. They did not have the springs and ball seats with their kit but Long Island kit does. Both are about 85.00 bucks.
Thank's for the starter pics. I hope you are able to post some of the actual bushing removal technique.
Also appreciate the parts warning, but I got everything from Bair's out at Carlisle this summer. Sometimes it's nice to be able to actually handle things before you buy, I'm always a little nervous when catalog ordering. Usually works out, but a bigger hassle of returning if it isn't quite right.
The first one took a bit to remove but once I figured it out, the next three only took a couple of mins. each. Be sure to use some sort of fixture, I made my own, so you don't bend the a-arm when installing the new ones.
OR you could wus out and have someone else do them for you but where's the satisfaction in that?
Sorry, I don't have any pic's poping them off but just make sure you tap them out from the inner side first. Once you have a lip on the outer bushing then you can tap it out from the outside. Just a few hits and go around the bushing. After about three or four hits it should fall out. The article does a very good job of describing the process. I read it over a couple of times before starting in.

Dont worry Jim, I'm not gonna wus out on this one. I like tackling new projects, and it certainly is satisfying to be able to say I did it myself.
Thanks for posting that artical by " Lars", thats a great read, and couldn't be laid out much better. I should have most of the tools in the required listing, but I will have to pick up some more beer, seems that's a specific must, as it's mentioned multiple times !!
Just got finished putting the front end back on. The hardest part of the job was putting the new springs in. Started today with a buddy at 4 and finished up by 7:30. Just too tired to start it up and roll it down the street. Setting up an appt for the alignment.
I was surprised to see how tight the front-end is and a better feel for the road. I did notice my front-end height raised about 1 inch and I bought the springs at LIC. When I turn left and let go of the wheel she wants to stay left. No return to center. Same with a right hand turn. I am hoping an alignment will fix this problem. Scheduled for a week from friday.

Sounds like you need to get more positive caster - that's what determines steering returnability.
