Lucky Man!
The 1966 started somewhere in Georgia; back in 1973 it was registered in Smyrna Georgia where the same owner kept it until 2004. At that point it may have jumped a little but ended up in the hands of a company called Rite Track Racing out of Chester OH in late 2004 / early 2005. I haven't had any luck seeing if they are still in business. At Rite Track racing the car engine was built and I'm assuming the body was "freshened" up. I have tons of receipts on the engine work but nothing else. From there, the car jumped to a dealer, to the previous owner and then myself.
It has a non-marked 454 with tons of new internals (rollers, valves, pushrods, rings, etc...). The transmission looks great and I'm verifying if it was original to the car based on numbers. I wrote it all down but lost the sheet of paper so I'm starting over.
So far there are a few issues. The ammeter, odometer (stuck at 33080 miles since at least 1973), and gas gauge do not work. There is a lot of rattle in the window tracks when open and closing the door.
I brought it to a local expert is looks like it was an original BB based on several factors; however, the original engine is long gone. It has a late VIN from July 66.
The transmission looks perfect on the outside but I do have some shifter issues between 2-3. When warm, going from 2-3 grinds a little. Also, I can't downshift from 3 to 2. I'll drain, take cover, do an inspection, add fluid, and adjust shifter/linkage. I haven't played with tranny's yet but doing lots of reading lately on it. Hopefully it is something minor and doesn't require a rebuild.

A very nice stablemate for your 62 The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
