Default Learning something everyday

Was just looking at the parts for sale and a member has some "fiberglass headlight buckets for swap".

When did they switch to metal? How long did fiberglass buckets hang around?
I am almost embarrassed to say that I removed my buckets and never noticed if they were glass or metal?

Love these C2s
Mine is in storage, yesterday, I bought a Tim Hortons coffee, went to the lockup, opened it up. closed the door, turned the light on and sat in a chair stairing at my 63 just appreciating how lucky I am

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong... I *THINK* '63 was fiberglass and after that was metal. Or am I thinking of something else?

I know 63 was the only year they had them but did they go through the full year or did they switch to the metal units sometime in the 63 production? JohnZ will know.

I believe that ALL 63's had fiberglass buckets.

Some say VERY LATE 20,000+ SN 63's had metal buckets and I've even heard some say that VERY EARLY 64's still had the fiberglass buckets as a holdover from 63.

Splitting hairs IMHO.

I have never seen a known correct 63 with original metal buckets, and I have never seen an original 64 with fiberglass buckets. But, I have never examined the last 63 or the first 64.

BTW, There were at least two major changes in the 63 fiberglass buckets. The first style entirely different from the late style, and within those there were many running changes, some noticeable to the eye from the outside, some not.

I do the exact same thing but sometimes I sit in the driver's seat
