I've got a VIN and all what I want to know is - the tranny on this car is manual or auto?
Give me a hint here please if someone can.

No way to tell from the VIN. If the engine is original, the engine code will specify HP and manual or auto trans.
You do know this is a salvage car, right...

To add to what Ed has said............
It's the 19,731 st. Corvette built in 1963.
I looked at the pictures. Looks like a manual trans by the appearance of the gear shift.

The one in the picture is a 4 speed with a Hurst shifter.

IMHO, 41.5K is a LOT of money for that car.
1. You'll get a salvage title which is a "kiss of death" upon resale.
2. You don't know if it is an original motor car or not. That would have bearing on the car's original, pre-damage value.
3. You can't estimate the damage with your eyeballs, i.e. motor full of salt water, trans and rear full of salt water, electrical/wiring issues, etc.
For 41.5K, I think you can do better.

I'm with Chuck. There are better purchases out there for that kind of money.

I believe that the $41.5K is the estimated value before the flood damage Chuck, and the estimated repair is also shown as $41.5K or higher, therefore a write-off.
Bidding is at $16K, you'd sure have to go through it with a fine toothed comb to know what you were getting into...
Then when finished, you'd have to get all the inspections etc. to get the title changed from salvage to rebuilt in order to plate it, if that's even possible on a NJ flood salvage title.

Ah, I missed that part, Paul. I'm obviously not "up" on salvage auctions.

Thanks all for the replies. Clutch pedal - aint it obvious. Have to be more focused.
The car would be travelling to Europe and even for 25k it still can be a bargain, no matter the damage. However, we'll see how the auction go.
Happy new year!
