Please post pic and what are you going to do with it? Restore back to original or what enquiring minds want to know.
Ok good to know wh do you recomend as a resource for restoration in knowing what to do or not?
Dan
I am guessing that you are wanting to restore it back to original, but how far are you willing to go with it? To the TOP? The best there is just posted above you. Vette Daddy. He has restored more 53-55 NCRS Top Flight & Bloomington Gold Corvettes then anyone I know. CSHERMAN in above postings also has one of the if not the most outstanding 54 Corvettes in the country. Chris has more awards for his 54 then snow flakes in a snow man. Well almost as many. Send them pic as well as posting pic of the car on here and they can help you. I have had a few 54's in my time as well but I am so I don't count Ha Ha Ha. Post some pic.
Did the 54 come with a black top or tan at 1st?
Dan
You may or may not know that some of the early 54 Corvettes (I know at least up to #431) have 53 convertible top frames which are a little different construction then later 54 frames. Having said that as far as I know ALL 54 Corvettes had TAN Tops. What number is the one you foundin the garage in IL?
I restored a late 54 with help from the guys above. They are a wealth of knowledge. As a side note here, be careful on the amount of $$$ you spend as the 54's do not command the money you might think. IMO a class 54 might bring the 60's, probably less in this economy.
