1962 pumpkin
Just inherited my uncles 1962 Corvette, 327 340 horse 4 speed. The right axle is sliding out of the differential. I would like to know what size the pumpkin is so I can search my options. The car does not have posi and I would like to convert is over. What do you recommend?

that sounds like a bad axle bearing do not even drive that car , by the way your uncle was kind leaving you a C 1 I had a 411 posi unit listed FS .59/64 chevys all used same ham ! the 4 series excepts the 4:11/4:56 gears and 3 series for 3:70 etc.converting over to a posi unit is expensive , my advice is find a nice rebuilt ham all done with ratio you want .they seem to be going for $900 , my rebuild with buying a used 411 complete ham cost me every bit of $900, pull your ham get new outer axle bearings pressed on have ham checked and resealed and use it. not much goes wrong with the non posi units .lets see the 62 pictures .good luck!
