After further review maybe I should lose 20 pounds. Then my belly wont rub on the wheel. Does anyone have a C2 without power steering and a smaller custom wheel ? My concern is I am handicapped from a car wreck 4 years ago and I an worried after alot of time and money getting my car from my childhood [20 years old when i bought her for $2900] I might not be able to enjoy her again.

a smaller wheel is going to be tougher at a standstill (like parking) but will be tolerable with any directional movement. power steering would be the best option with a smaller wheel.

check the Grant website for corvette style wheels,
Bill

I just spoke to the tech dept at Ididit. The retrofit column made for the C-2 (which is different from the Universal column, which was the column referenced in Mike's link) measures approx. 6.25 inches from the dash face to where the steering wheel attaches to the head of the column. If you want to retain the original wheel, an adapter is available, which adds another 0.5 inch, total 6.75 inches. I measured my 65 column and it is approx. 8.75 inches from the dash to the steering wheel. So for me that's good news, as i assumed a new tilt column would be closer to the driver, not farther.

The column they sold me is 6 1/2 "plus 2 1/2" for the adapter plus 4" for the stock steering wheel offset. Just saying.

Ok, so much for their TECH dept. I asked her three times about it and she confirmed the 6.25 + 0.5 = 6.75, as it just seemed too good to be true.
I trust your experience way more than her info. So thanks for that!
However, I'm already using a 15" C-3 wheel with only 2.5" dish, so it should only add 1/4" more than where the column head is now.

I have the F/R column with a Borgeson box. I used a 67 steering hub instead of the F/R hub which is gigantic. The 67 hub fits perfect and shaved off about an inch. I am running a stock teak wheel.

Yes, it has tilt and 4 way flasher. One touch that I did to give it that original look is I used the 65 turn signal lever. Also, I shortened an extra lever, threaded it and use it for the tilt lever.
