Who can care less about having their original engine? And Why?

Ok here is a big confession to the world my 63 should be silver with a black interior its now Tuxedo Black with red interior.
I feel better already. My way now the way i like it 123
You know I really cared at one time in the 80s What pisses me off is 450.00 neural safety switches they are asking . its a safety item got to have it ,also the 1000 for a set of horns.

For the ones that don't agree with my point of view, if it doesn't affect my SS check, I don't really GAS! And that includes that little square inch of cast iron on the front of a Chevy block that many consider the holy grail!
I do prefer to see an engine dressed as period correct though.
Have I ever mentioned I have a younger cousin we used to call P(ee)Body because he wet his britches all the time?

Exactly the perspective that I agree with. I can respect the NCRS, and I throw one of their manuals on the hood of my highly modified 1964 Roadster with hot parts everytime that I park it at one of their shows. I tell the guys that they can pass on my car, the few times that I have attented an NCRS event, because not all of us need the car scored. And then I actually have three trophies, because I somehow ended up with the best modified. I had best engine also, even though I put a special sign out that says for display only. I don't know how that happened. I walked away to enjoy other cars and returned to find I was judged anyways- go figure!
I like them all - just clarifying what kind of "show" you were at.

You're probably right. I would have to get the trophies out.
I think you've confused the NCCC (National Council of Corvette Clubs) "show-n-shine" shows with NCRS (National Corvette Restorers Society) pre-registered judging events. NCRS doesn't award "trophies", and doesn't judge modified cars or have trophies for "best engine" (or best anything). What you're talking about is an NCCC show, where anyone can drive in off the street, and the judging standard is "The relentless search for dirt".
