GOOD LUCK! 63 Coupe window trim molding (inside & outside) is as rare as hen's teeth. If you find any, expect to pay a king's ransom. Let's hope that someone will make reproductions of the trim.

Try David Sokolowski in Gardena Ca. 310-329-5334 He had some 63 moldings I needed expect to pay 200+ each if he has them. They are very rare buy them if you find them or you will regret it later.

Hire a private investigator to hunt him down. If he can find him in under a year, you will be way more financially ahead

Sorry to hear about your loss.
If this guy that skipped is a "corvette specialist", good chance someone on this forum may know his whereabouts...name?

Some find the post-'63 painted A-pillar look more attractive. Back in the day, the "surplus" moldings were just tossed, like hubcaps or bumpers.

But in the last few decades, even kustomizers have learned to keep all old take-off parts.

Post 63 is completely different.

On a 63 you don't just paint the A pillar windshield section that that trim wraps around. It is not smooth and flush like a 64/67 but is relieved and the trim fits into the relief and wraps it. Same thing on the front of the doors at the vent window area. If you were going to leave it off from the vent window areas you need a later door.

Thanks for the clarification. I figured there'd be some glassing to fill in the A pillar areas, but didn't know about any door issue.

Can't you just continue to use the '63 doors WITH their shiny trim? Won't they bolt onto a '64-'67 and fit ok? I thought the original issue was the COST of replacing missing A-pillar stainless.

As far as I know you can use the 63 doors on a later vehicle. The dimension doesn't change. Would certainly look different with the painted section on the windshield part of the A pillar against the stainless trim on the leading edge of the vent window.

I don't know the reason they completely wrapped the A pillars on the 63 coupe with stainless unless it was to mirror the image of the convertible with the stainless trim running all the way around to the vent window.
