here is another, they all played together , it was a stock class two speed power gluides and 283 2x4 , i found this car when buying my set of 2x4 carbs for my 61.finding my uncles 57 wagon that also raced with these cars would have been nice it was known as the stomper /silver 4door wagon after 1970 it was painted red whit and blue less the stars on roof /no photos exist in my posession of the later paint , i will post one of the car later
D/MP. Paul was a perfectionist. Car super clean and ran strong. In 1971 (or so) he went to a pro-stock car. Ran so-so, but never as competitive as the wagon. I hear he's kind of on the down and outs recently. I remeber once sitting in the car in the staging lanes and had the door open. He asked if I could put my hand on the door/dome switch as it was drawing power from the battery !
Dick Moroso got the Vette from Paul and raced it for a few years. Not sure if Paul lent it to him or sold it to him. Dick lent his '61 at the time to Paul Vanderlay who raced it for a few years before giving it back to Dick. Rick still has the car
i was a kid that day who drove down with two uncles in a 70 cuda 440 six pack car blue ! it was easy to get autographs back then at 11 years old ! Jenkins Garlits and Jeb Allen .I remember my uncle in pits looking under Blevins nomad as a spectator , they never could beat the blevins car with the 57 stomper or get a close look like that day I have pictures of the engine as well /mike kennedy was the last person to have our 57 stomper wagon later color red white and blue ! I often wonder if that old racer can turn up !mike was a big NJ skiff and garvey racer as well .the last i saw him he tuned my 68 vette up 20 years ago amazing mechanic .

Yes, that's around 1964 when he first ran the car in B/MP. Note the front license plate. Still drove it on the street at the time. We flat0towed the car behind a 1951 Buick Roadmaster. Engine was a stock 327, 340 HP short block, engle roller cam and an M/T crossram manifold. Car ran high 12's around 112-115 mph. That photo was taken at Dover Drag Strip. Rick still has the car, but no engine at present time. He took out the 572 crate motor and put it in his '68 Caprice wagon.
