Default Speaker harness

Completing the restoration (finally!) on a '67 big block coupe and getting to the finishing touches. Replaced all the wiring, 'Lectri Limited, including a new speaker harness.

I can determine the main power and the antenna connections but cannot figure out where the speaker wires attach.

One green and one black from the speaker and they have ring connectors. Only a guess but I would suppose the black/ring goes to ground. But can't find a place to connect the green.

I talked to Lectric and they have no idea. Nor does anything show up on the wiring diagram.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

If they have ring connectors this sounds like th harness end that goes to the radio.

IF you are using the stock (original) Delco radio correct for your car then it would be the same as my '66 radio, with the connectors as shown in this picture. The harness attaches to the radio as shown and the connector mates to the one that is attached to the speaker.

I should add to my above comment that IF you are using the original Delco radio, then that connector from the radio is for a specific speaker, not just any 6x9. The speaker must be 10 ohms and have the proper Delco Load Coil (or equivalent) 1.5 ohm 26 millihenry unit. They are available for about 60 bucks, such as at turnswitch-dot-com.

Velox, you have saved the day!

Yep, using the riginal Delco radio and speaker. Your picture is worth it's weight in gold.

I've owned the car since '68 and started the restoration quite awhile ago. Once I figure out how to post pictures, I'll do so.

Nice looking '66 you have there.

Thanks again.
