I have a stock 66 427/390. Someone please tell me what carb to get. I want it to run good. Don't need the 3370. Not worried about judging etc. I think the 750 cfm that is on it is to much. Is 600 good. Thanks for the help.
The original was 580cfm i believe. They make reproductions, but they will run you a few pennies. There should be plenty of carbs on the market, used and new, that will fit the bill, but FIRST, what is your car doing that makes you think the carburetor is too big?

It feels like it has a miss in the motor. Then it runs fine. I tuned the carb but didn't help. Feels and smells rich. Some black smoke when reving motor.

I'm running a 650 Double Pumper with the secondary pump disconnected. Works great for me. The reason for disconnecting the secondary unit was that it hit the vent tube to the valve cover and it kept discharging a shot of fuel every time I hit the trottle, even a low RPM.
