If I join NCRS, given the serial number, can they definitely identify and confirm the casting date / engine assembly date / and body assembly date (birthday) for a 63?
Whether you join NCRS or not, that info cannot be determined just from the VIN number. You need to view the Trim tag of the car, and the engine block casting numbers and stamp pad numbers (assuming it is original) to learn the body build date, engine casting date, and engine assembly date. What NCRS can tell you with their Shipping Data Report Service is the following: Shipping Data Report Service
The information consists of the dealer code, dealer name, dealer address and the date the car was produced. The good news is this should allow you to find the original dealer where your Corvette was sold and possibly open the door to finding more information about your Corvette. This service is included for no fee with the Award Confirmation Document. A letter containing the information you request will be mailed to your NCRS address on record. The cost for this service will be $40.00 USD. Pay by Credit Card or PayPal.

NCRS will give you the vehicle assembly date (the day it rolled off the assembly line) and the original dealer it was delivered to. There is other information on their website to help you with Dealer Zone info and other member supplied data.
NCRS will sell you the information for 40$.... not included in dues.
Not sure if you have to be member to purchase the info.
I finally broke down and got the dealer info and was so suprised to find that the dealer I always used to get parts was the original chevy dealer to where my car was delivered. Way back when the previous owner told me it was some other chevy dealer. I happen to know a prominent guy in that small town and he is helping me though the dealer is long closed. It is a thread to follow that wasn't there before I got the dealer info.
Buy the NCRS 1961 corvette manual. That will give you a guide to exactly what parts on your vehicle are correct. It's good fun to go through it and see what's original and not.
Sorry if I offended anyone with the line of my questions. I was under the impression that this is a conversation sight. I only want to have available to me the maximum amount of information regarding the 63 cars. I have always been impressed with the caliper of individuals on corvette forum and with their amount of credible information. I have owned 10 63's and I am still dumb. As an old viet nam vet whose mind has surrendered the majority of information previously acquired due to multiple injuries, please excuse my ignorance and possible erratic line of questions. If it pleases you Mike, I will dismiss myself from any further questions regarding my beloved 63. All I want is to drive my car, enjoy the pleasant conversation with other enthusiast owners and attempt to learn more than I know. Please forgive my being uninformed and dumb questions.
No need to take offence- your questions are kinda vague and can be interpreted in many different ways. Pretty hard to provide accurate answers accordingly.............
Getting back to your original question in this post:
