Square nut source
Screwed the pooch on trying to get this twisted off bolt removed. Going to have to cut the old one off and weld on a new one. Can't find it listed in any supplier site. It is a square nut with the tapered corners. Similar to the cage nuts but smaller. Going to go look at HD on a whim. It is 7/16 thread.
Also my black pipe couplings are leaking. If I put a ton of Teflon tape it helps but I am going to see if there is any pipe dope I can put on the joints to seal them up better. I get more done when I am NOT on vacation.

I don't remember if this nut is visible, NCRS judging is goal so need to be square. I think the thickness of a hex is more, making for a fitment issue as well.
HD had 3/8 and 1/2" but not 7/16...Ace no luck...will have to call around instead of burning a ton of fuel looking. OCD is a biotch...

Found it at the 3rd ace hardware I called. Looks like grainger and fastenal have them in bulk but not individual. Amazon had a pkg of 10. Gotta love the interweb.
Now driving 18 miles RT to pick up a nut.
Don't want to paint any further on the frame until this is fixed...I had overlooked it.
