Default dash lights

restoring a 1960 corvette, installed a new light switch all of the lights work correctly, however, the word bright and brake are lit all of the time in the instument panel even though the bright dim switch is working fine, any ideas would be appreciated

Does this occur when the IGN is on, or the lights are on, or a combination of both ?

Check you have the correct globe holders in the correct holes first, then check all grounds are good, clean and tight.

Also check the E brake switch, but my money is on a bad ground.

What color wires are in those spots?? If they are gray, that would explain your problem. Gray are illumination lamps and on all the time. Pilot Dan

Cardboard tubes inside the speedometer may be missing for those 2 locations?

Horizontal felts, or rear channels?

edit....you may want to start a new thread for better responses.

if rear channels, the repro felt is too thick. I use fabric store felt.
if horiz channels, they're too thick too. i crush them in a vice before installation, especially the corners where they mate to the door posts.
