Hello Fellow Enthusiasts; In my endless search for my "Dream" Corvette, I came across this example http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet-Corvette-Coupe-1967-Chevrolet-Corvette-StingRay-1-OWNER-ORIGINAL-TITLE-69K-ACTUAL-MILES-/330908022804?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item4d0ba7b814What struck me as "odd" was the Redline of 5,300rpms, Please correct me if I'm WRONG!!...but shouldn't a 327/350hp L79 motor have a "6,000rpm" Redline Tach???!!!.....Mark
To start with, that's not a 327/350 engine, in that car. From what I can see, that's a base 300 horse.
The 327/350 would have an aluminum intake, chrome oil fill tube, chrome oil cap and finned aluminum valve covers. The radiator upper hose on that car, GM #3887154, is the upper hose for a 327/300. A 350 horse uses the 3887156 upper hose.
From the (lousy) picture of the stamp pad, it looks like the stamping is "HE", which IS a 67 327/300.
It looks like a nice enough car, just not a 350 hp. He says he has the tank sticker, take a look. If you're looking for an L79 in particular, this ain't it.
I’ve got a few additional observations no one mentioned. I assume you caught the six tail lights and after market rear view mirror. The seats also don’t look like leather from the pics. You’ve got to ask, how can an original owner not know the car’s options, especially if he has the tank sticker?
If you’re serious about the car, I would recommend a thorough frame inspection based on the rust showing in the wheel pics. Those gold bow-tie hubcap centers are also not Corvette.

I smell a scam. Run!

Dear markinmillbrae650,I am selling this for my mother in law and I'm getting a lot of emails about the 350hp. I was told it was 350 but may be 300hp. I am looking into it.- jjache Click "respond" to reply through Messages, or go to your email to reply

Dear jjache,Hello; Your ad mentions the tank sticker, the tank sticker would list the engine rating. The 327/350 would have an aluminum intake, chrome oil fill tube, chrome oil cap and finned aluminum valve covers. The radiator upper hose on that car, GM #3887154, is the upper hose for a 327/300. A 350 horse uses the 3887156 upper hose. I Gaurantee!!!, that is NOT a 327/350hp L79 motor. Also a 1967 Corvette has "2" tail lights on each side NOT the "3" on each side as shown in your pictures!!!...there is ALLOT that does NOT add up!!!....Mark
Dear jjache,Hello; Interested in your 1967 Corvette. The 327/350hp motor was the L79. The tachometer for that motor had a Redline of "6,000 rpm", the Redline in your Corvette shows 5,300 rpms. How do you explain this discrepancy?!....Thanks, Mark

Latest correspondence with seller (?)...he now claims LOTS MORE documentation...so why not post it with the other pictures. I personally would rather see the docs (?) he's claiming to have, then a picture of a Rusty Rim!!!....Mark
Dear markinmillbrae650,Well Mark as stated I don't know everything about this car but IT ALL ADDS UP! you will not find a better example short of the 3rd light that was added in the 70's and you missed the side mirror that was added as well. I have ALL documentaion on this car and an expert appraisal, original bill of sale, original title, original tank sticker. So do me a favor, if your interested then bid if not, don't bother me with your comments and don't bid. I get alot of dreamers... .
