I have 1964 everything is mounted but have two questions.
1) I am looking at the AIM manual but it is hard to tell how the two hoses routes from the pump back to the control valve. Can someone provide me with pictures of their cars routing?
2) I have a double pully on crank the front pulley is unused. But when I mounted the power steering pump the alignment is such that I would need a triple pulley. What am I missing here?
Can't help with control valve hose routing because I have a Borgeson set up but you will need a third add on pulley for the crank. You can pick one up at any of the usual vendors.
I just called NAPA and they didn't have it. Will I need a new triple pulley for the crank or is there an add on? The NAPA guy said he never heard of an add on pulley?
It's an add on and you can get it at LICS, that is where I got mine. You just take the three bolts out of the crank pulley and this one on and put the bolts back in, pretty simple. I will check on the part number, I think I still have the LICS tag in my garage.
Anyone with a picture of PS hose routing in their car would be greatly appreciated.
Well I'll give it a try. '66 big block but would expect should be similar to yours. Have redone all my PS this winter cylinder piston not attached yet until after system started and cylinder adjusted... Let me know if some other area/angle is needed.
The picture are great thanks. Can you post me a pic of the pump pulley with belt and crank pulley? Thanks
Here are some pictures of mine. Yours looks much better it looks like I need to adjust some of the angles. I noticed that when I turn the front wheels to the extreme right the hoses going to the pump are nearly bent in half. I would have thought GM could have done something better than that.
Or you could use this, maybe. I am, using an 8", I believe wide balancer. Corvette Central, LICS, etc. have the pulley. Single groove cast iron pulley. Move your fan/alt. belt to the front pulley, and use rear pulley groove for P/S belt.
I discussed my situation with Paragon tech support and ordered a bolt on pulley that will mate up with existing pulley to align with the power steering. I don't know why but one would think if your car came with a double pulley back then it would align with their options such as power steering. I never dreamed it wouldn't mate. Go figure???

Small-block power steering has always required the "add-on" 232 pulley to create a third belt path to drive the power steering pump, as shown in the Assembly Manual (section N40, sheet 2.00).

Thanks John,
Another question the control valve has a metal plate on it's back side and in the middle where the two hoses chriss cross there is a U shaped metal piece. What is that for? Maybe tieing the hoses to it???

That piece ("hose guide") was added about 1974 or so.

Interestingly enough I only am running two belt paths to have the alternator and the power steering pump run.
