61'Heater Switch wire

61'Heater Switch wire
In preparing to assemble the Heater Switch, The Switch has two rivets located in front of the wire connections poles. One of these rivets has a bare wire connected to it . . . where does this wire connect? The switch looks in good shape,but it has not been tested to see if it works.

There should be two spade type terminals, one for supply and one for the heater. There should be an external resistor between the output terminal and a center terminal which has no connection. What do you mean by rivets? can you post or email a picture? SOunds like your switch may be modified.
