Got a 1965 coupe with original K-H knock-off wheels. The casting date on the wheels says "A4 28 66", I assume it means Arpil 28 1966. Not sure what A stands for. So that means the car did not come with those wheels, there were added later.
So if car did not come with k/o wheels, wheels hubs/adapter needed to be changed for the k/o wheels??? Unless car did come with k/o wheels but they were changed later on for whatever reason....
Yes, but it is nearly impossible to figure out what it came with originally. In 67, they started with a tank sticker on the gas tank which listed all of the options but no such luck in 65. The option code for knock offs in 65 was P48 but I am not sure whether that can be traced back to an ECL code on the trim tag. Perhaps someone else will know.

ECL won't tell you about most options. Decoded my ECL and it tells me car came with powered windows opptions (which it has), that's it. Only way to know for sure would be window sticker or build sheet, which I dont have of course...
MY question is if car came with rally wheels instead of k/o wheels, are there any change required (wheel hubs/adapter?) to put on k/o wheels?
Lets be kind and just say that the person(s) doing the date stampings at K-H on KO wheels were REQUIRED to be bi-polar. Some of the variations seen on obviously original wheels simply defy logical interpretation. I'm sure that someone, somewhere has a truly
beautiful page from K-H describing the procedure and how it should be done. Unfortunately, that page never made it to the guy on the line.

Your first post said your car is a 1965. 1965 Corvettes did not come with rally wheels; those were not introduced until 1967. A 1965 would have had plain steel wheels and wheel covers as standard equipment.

NO. The basic chassis didn't care which wheels it got - hubs/spindles/lug studs didn't change. If it got steel wheels, they bolted on with lug nuts. If it got KO wheels, the adapters bolted on (with longer lug nuts), and the KO wheels secured to the adapters via the spinners.

Sorry, meant plain steel wheels I guess.
