Default Keisler RS500 or SS700 ?

Hey all,
Debating between the Keisler RS500 or SS700. I originally wanted the RS600, but it was off their product offerings before I was ready to buy.

Application is to replace the TKO600 in my LS2 powered '64. I like the TKO, but it doesn't shift well at my redline (6800rpm).

Questions:
1) If the car dyno'd 400 ft-lbs tq on a load bearing, eddy current type chassis dyno, would the RS500 be sufficient? Note I'm on relatively hard BF Goodrich Radial T/A's, 255/60/15 that cannot hook up even with a 3.08 rear gear in 1st with the TKO600 close ratio (2.87 first).

2) Is delivery (wait time) schedule better with one trans vs the other?

3) I think I read someone had a close ratio RS500 from Keisler, but I can't find anything other than the standard ratio on their website. Do they make different gear options for the RS500?

I think my ideal ratios would be same as the TKO600 road race close ratio or the SS700 wide ratio w/.80 5th.

I did not swap my 3.90 to 3.08 to really change 5th gear final, it was more to make 1st and 2nd longer and more useable (again, can't fit enough tire to make good use of the LS2 power and short gears). Something near .8 is better than .64 for 5th for me, and 2.90-ish for first gear is ideal. The 2.66 close ratio 1st in the SS700 is too tall and the 3.37 standard ratio 1st in the RS500 is too short.

I plan to do something after the power tour, but not keen on long waits - it's why I've held off for 2 years already. I can't afford to drop the $$$ on a new trans and not have the swap done relatively quickly so I can sell the TKO600. But I really want to be able to shift at the top end.

Appreciate thoughts/comments.

The difference in price is not significant, and the newer technology is better so if I was going to buy I would go for the SS700

if that was the only consideration, i'd move out.. but if an RS500 can be had without waiting months, and I can choose ratios, then it's on the table.

surely they have service parts, you might ask Keisler if they have the parts to build you a RS600
