Turn Signal Problems
I just replaced the turn signal switch on my '61. It will cause the brake lights to flash left and right whenever I push down or push up on the handle. However, it will not stay up or down necessitating me to manually hold the lever up or down to keep the rear lights flashing. Obviously this isn't very much fun when I'm supposed to have one hand on the wheel and one on the shifter. Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe you left out the flat spring, or it's lost it's tension. or it's not positioned properly.

Also make sure you re-assembled the steering wheel ***'y so that the turn signal canceling pins are not 180* opposite of where they should be! You can make that mistake and it will cause some crazy symptoms. Don't EVEN ask me how I know about this.
