The show where they restored that '63 and fabricated the hardtop was on the Velocity Channel last night. Apparently, they had or made a mold from an existing top and made the one on the car from that.
I think they charged the customer $62K for the restoration and they did it in 8 weeks. The guy got the car back in time for his wedding and he and his bride drove off into the sunset in it.
Oh, and they put a 350 in it and added disk brakes. Power steering, too, I think. After they built the car, they discovered the frame was bent so they had to straighten that. Apparently, they exceed the guy's budget by quite a bit because he had quite a look of shock on his face when presented with the bill.
