At slower speeds the speedometer reads SLOW - meaning is shows I'm doing 20 when I'm really doing 25 or maybe 30.
Around 50-60 mph - it really accurate. Note: the closer to 50-60 the more accurate it becomes.
Above that speed it starts reading fast meaning - it shows 75 when I'm really doing 70.
While driving and maintaining a constant speed the speedometer doesn't fluctuate. It tracks rather smoothly.
One last note: It is possible I have the 2 scenarios mixed up - meaning slower speeds it reads faster, faster speeds, slower. I'm having a major brain cramp right now so I can't remember. (It sucks getting old!!)
If it's "slow" and changes to "fast" with speed (or vice versa), it's not related to the drive gearing - the issue is in the calibration of the speedo head, which has to come out and go to an instrument specialist to be re-calibrated.
