I don't usually visit the other parts of the forum since I have a 63 convertible.
Thought you might be interested in what I will be doing to my 1936 Ford 5w coupe hot rod this fall.
I bought this along with a 4L60e transmission today. It comes complete wth everything needed; wiring harness, fuel pump, regulator, A/C, alternator etc.
Actually, this isn't the one I bought but it's a good picture anyway. I will need a different water pump and a few other tidbits.
The coupe currently has a 454 and a 400 turbo. Mustang II front end, Ford 9" rear.
I realize it's not going to be an easy install but I belong to a great car club so if I'm stuck, other guys will pitch in. Here is a pic of the brand new LS2 and the coupe it's going in.

Reason: correction
My son and I have installed LS1's in his '79 El Camino and the '77 pro touring Camaro I used to have plus we put a 525HP LS3 in his '69 Camaro. All of them worked out great giving lots of HP and smooth running. You will love the motor.
Go to any car show and you'll see that the LS series of engines far out number the old dinosaur small block Chevy's. I'm sure my next project will have one. Where else can you get an engine that puts out 400-500 Hp and idles smoothly and gets awesome mileage. Time to get out of the dark ages.

Pfft, everyone knows that technology hasn't improved one bit since the 1960s

My 07 has an LS2 with an Edelbrock supercharger on it. Bone stock otherwise. Approximately 570-580 HP at the crank - 501HP at the rear tires, smooth idle, zero driveability issues, and great gas mileage.

Exactly my point. At the GoodGuy's show last week-end, 3000+ cars, it was amazing how many cars had LS motors. I remember my 70 LS-6 Chevelle that I modified the engine. It put out 550 HP, idled at 1300 RPM, got 6 MPG, ate plugs like they were candy and was a total PIA to drive.

It always warms the cockles of my heart to see a Chevy powering a Ford.
