Hey guys,
I have one of those Flex fans on my car. The car runs fine and doesn't really over heat although like some others here it will warm up at traffic lights but then cool down once rolling again. I just don't like the way it looks and so I want to replace it with a stock type fan/clutch. So my question is if I go to a salvage yard and get a five bladed fan from a GM car will it work as expected? Thanks.

you will have to find a yard with cars from the 60's and 70's. I am not sure but in my area all those old cars are picked though of that kind of stuff or the engines are already out. have you looked into the repro fans and and clutches

I think you will have a tough time finding anything in a bone yard. I would post an ad in the parts for sale section of the C2 forum. If you want something new, try some of the vette vendors such as Paragon, Zip or Long Island Corvette Supply. Make sure you have the correct fan shroud and seals. Jerry
Thanks. Yeah, I checked Paragon and they have one for $90 and one for $225. I guess the more expensive one may have correct numbers and revet heads??
