C1 Questions
I've recently purchased a 59 that had a restoration started 20-22 years ago and have a couple of questions. The assembly manual is kinda vague on the seats. How does the bottom cushion attach to the seat frame? Just sit there? Also the cloth top is still folded in the wrapper. I was told that if its over 18 months old [ probably shrunk] it won't fit. Its more than likely 18-20 years old. I haven't even unfolded it yet.

Yes the seat bun just fits down in the frame. The back would go on first and then the bottom. If the top is that old it probably won't fit. A new soft top itself is not real expensive.

Since the top it trimmed to fit as installed, it shouldn't matter if it shrunk or not, and shrinkage prior to install, may even be a good thing.
