Ignition switch repair?
I was having an occasional hot start problem a few months back. (would not turn over). After testing I suspected that it was the ignition switch. I swapped my switch with a good one off of my friends 65 oldsmobile. It's not the same on the outside, (no tabs and lamp holder) but it did the job. For the last 6 wks or so it has worked perfect. For the fun of it I took my switch apart today. It's obvious that it is bad. Question: Can I buy any GM switch of this vintage take it apart, and do a transplant?? A new correct one for a 65 is $100-$200.
