Yes, all my first generation Mustangs had the wooden deluxe steering wheel and the finger grooves add another aspect to the sensuous look and feel of the wood. Phenomenal work BTW. Of course, I expect a wooden replacement for the metal insert in the center console that holds the clock and heater ***** will follow shortly !

The stainless was laser cut for me by a forum member K2,, Thank You Klaus
I had to finish it to get the swirl marks and had to counter sink the holes that attach it to the hub
the woodwork is done by hand , router , table saw , jig saw , miter saw , and a bit on the scroll saw

That is awesome work. I like the finger grips on my wood wheel because of the grip needed to turn these old cars, and for comfort. Walnut has beautiful grain and color....I like it better than teak.
That's going to be beautiful! Please post pics when done.
Thank You
I cut the finger grips this morning and put one coat of varathane on it
Tomorrow i will put on another coat and post a pic ... my plan is 4-5 coats depending how it comes out
my last update will be finished and installed in the car
[QUOTE=ohiovet;1584790528]Very nice job on your wood wheel.
For your information I am attaching a few pictures of 5 C2 wood wheels which I bought from a GM engineers estate.
Contact me if you have any questions.

Thank You for the pics,,,, they are gorgeous
nice idea to sandwich the lighter wood between
The finger grips are a lot more pronounced on your wheels... I like it,, but to late to cut mine deeper,,, it already has two coats of varathane
