Ok, I have seen Corvettes with Pontiac and Olds engines and also one (or more) with a Hemi in it.
Also recently saw one (a 64 roadster) with a W block 348 or 409 engine.
I love different stuff so these were great to see.
But, how about a C1 with a flathead in it? A built one of course.
Flat Heads are just so cool and nostalgic. I'm currently chasing a 40 Ford Convertible and intend to keep it stock. Probably my last "Project" car. Been stored not running since 1988. Al W.

Anyone ever see one?
If I ever build one mine could be the first.
Nuts or what?
or is that me?
Get ready to spend some bucks just to be nostalgic. They are not cheap to build.
Not to mention a flathead make 2/3rds. the power of a OHV engine....
A 200 hp flathead is considered "hot"....
They can be stroked or bored to 300 plus inches....but the valve configuration just does not lend itself to power....
Now an Ardun conversion would be neat....but if you are going to do that...just stick a Red Ram Hemi or 354/392....
Interesting I would have guessed a Yates head Windsor like Ford used to run in NASCAR.
Flatheads are cool, a 30s hotrod with a flat head would be awesome but I prefer to have the engine in the being a newer generation than the chassis. Flatheads were near the end of their line when the Corvette came out.
I am not a camera kind of guy but back around the year 2000 when I had my first 1954 Corvette I met a guy in Greewood, Indiana (same town I live in) who was a uto shop teacher in a sall collage in Indianpolis who owned and drove a 194 Corvette replica with a Ford motor in it. Poor guy. The Corvette people did not like him or did the Chevrolet nor the Ford people. I just told him, don't raise the hood and know one will know unless you tell them you have a Ford motor in it.
What? no 409? How can you guys miss one of those for a flathead? Not to mention you can even buy some decent Edelbrock heads and intake manifolds for them.
