Just read the thread on the stolen vette and glad the owner got it back!
Has anyone ever tried using a "line lock", the kind used at races to hold the car still at the start line. I have never used one and am not familiar with how they work. If you could lock all four wheels (or rear wheels), the car would be very hard to move and thieves don't want to spend that much time.
My questions are:
How long could the line lock be pressurized without bleeding down?
Would the non-pressurized side develop air pockets?
Anyone familiar with the line lock see any drawbacks?
Even with all 4 wheels locked up the car can be hooked onto with a cable and winched up into or onto a trailer and away it goes. If a real thief wants a car he or she will get it. Anti theft items only keep us honest people honest.

Thanks Mike. Yes, I agree a professional will get it but where that car was stolen would have attracted more attention with the wheels locked up. Or if it was hot wired to start with the wheels locked the car wouldn't move.
But I'm asking for advice about linelock and how it works. I was thinking I would only lock the rear wheels so the linelock could be mounted out of site.
I have insurance but I would rather have the car, too much blood sweat and tears and money invested!
We used to sell a item called "Micro Lock". For trucks on hills, tow trucks etc. Locked all 4. Can't see why over night or while in a restaurant wouldn't be a big deal.

"Micro Lock", Thanks 00fxd, that's what I'm Looking for, I'll have to Google it.
I was worried that the racing linelock wouldn't meet the longer periods of time that would be required maybe heat-up and burn out. I suppose the linelock would be some sort of electrical/magnetic solenoid to hold pressure.
And Roger, yes that was my concern that the seals may bleed back because they weren't meant to use for long periods of time, thanks.
