Engine stutter 1964
Had the engine rebuilt three years ago, transistorized ignition , Holley carb and runs well. Today had it act up for 20-30 seconds, felt like it was running out of gas.New Fuel filter three years ago but unsure about the tank condition. Car did sit for a few years, fuel system cleaned but unsure how well.
You folks have been great pointing me in the right direction, I am thinking fuel filter ??? Reasonable or off base? Car ran great after the incident but I am concerned about our Sunday morning drive to the golf course. Tank was half full of Sunocos best.

Did you drain the gas from the tank that sat for a few years? It is rotten to the core count on it. Drain the tank and clean it. Put a scope down it and see if it's rusted or gunked up. If so clean or replace it. Blow out the gas line. Replace the fuel filter. Open up your carb and B12 it.

Maybe the stutter is a misfire? Check your plug wires and plugs. Take a close look at your distributor cap for a crack. Put your hands inside it and pull outward on it. I had a misfiring car a long time ago and my cap had a hairline crack in it you couldn't see without stressing it. Fuel filters are cheap. It's 3 years old and one batch of cruddy gas can clog it.
