Melting Slicks
I just bought a 57 and for the amount of time that I spent looking for it, I would buy this one in a flash and have two!
The price is right!

For sure, If your goal is a typical over restored much better than the way they left the factory and your only tool you can use is a credit card.
It would be easy to drop 100K restoring the car, Just drop it off and tell them to call when finished cost is no object. I'll be in the Hamptons for the summer.
We are all spoiled looking at restored cars with perfect gaps and wave free bodies, I will admit it would be difficult to not make them much better than the factory ever would or could.
Take a close look at the old pics.

Great price for this car. It's not something you should think you can do a little cleanup and drive. With what needs to be done to make it safe to drive, you may as well go all the way. As stated, when you start putting new parts on, the old ones look like hell.
This only works if you know how to do the majority of the work.
All that has been said, I would buy it while it's available and then decide what to do. Good advice to check the VIN number and title on any car like this. Bad ownership history can cause a mega nightmare.
I bet there are a dozen buyers at 25K reading this, including me.

Some other things to check
- As mentioned, check for frame rust; especially on the kickups in front of the rear wheels, rear crossmember, and around rad support.
- Verify the VIN tag is screwed to drivers door jam and is a later 57. The 7 fin valve covers signify a later build date.
- Auto or manual trans? If manual, 3 speed (or 4 speed which was also available on later builds)?
- Radio appears to be original. Does it have 'Wonderbar' embossed on the push bar? Is the speaker amplifier behind the dash and complete?
- Radio sheilding missing in engine compartment. Antenna not original.
- Fan shroud missing.
- Jack and tools in the trunk? Correct wheels w/nubs and hubcaps?
- There is some alteration to the rear apron for added exhaust or lights below the horizontal bumpers that wiil need attention. Rear license mounting not original.
- Rear bumperettes and vertical bumper/exhaust bezels missing.
- Front license 'sled' parts, grill teeth and bar missing.
