Summer Road trip
Hey Guys,
For the last 3-4 years my wife and I have travel to the Black Hills Corvette Event in Spearfish, South Dakota in our 65 Coupe. Last year the belt broke on the AC and and the temp reached over 100 on the way home and my wife about baked. This year we went again but this time I told her we were going to Cheyenne, Wy. from Spearfish.
We left Spearfish on a Sunday morning going about 65 mph and without the air going , temp about 190 on the car. The car ran great and the sweet spot for the car was 2800 rpm and we were getting 18 mpg. Our car (my car) is a automatic. We left Cheyenne on a tues morning running about 2800 rpm and put the air on as soon as the wife starting getting hot. Once we got into Neb. on I-80 the temp. outside was 95 degrees and car was running 210 degrees with the air on. It never went above 210 and never spit any water out.
I run Mobil one oil and i felt good about the car. The trip was about
1500 miles and was a great time for my wife, me and the car. The best part of the trip was when others cars passed us, they would slow down just to look at the car. Other times we would pass people up just to show them the car had some *****. The car is a 327/300 hp.
Thanks,
Scraper
