Default "Re-chrome" or "buy new" 58 body pieces?

I have some of the front end chrome stuff, and it does'nt look that bad to an untrained eye. LOL I want nice stuff, but it does'nt need to be 100 point caliber. Am I better off buying reconditioned, or new pieces? Is there someone out there that has parts ready to go, where you trade your old stuff as a core and pay the difference? I am ready to send some custom drag race pieces to be chrome plated, and was wondering if I should send the Corvette stuff with it or go another direction.

I need front bumpers
I need tail light housing with lense (both)

I have rear bumpers need re-chrome
I have the 6 pieces for the grill/eye brawl need re-chrome

Thanks, Wade

Wade, Don't know about repro stuff in the C-1 world, but it has been said in the C-2 world that if the hardware is original and it fits correctly, keep it, refinish it. Dennis

front bumpers are different from 58-60 to 61-62. I would look for a nice used set and get them rechromed once you know the bumpers fit correctly.

Buy used and rechrome thats my advice. Even the NOS stuff was wavy.

Not sure if these guys are still around. They did all of the stainless and chrome on my car. Nice people and do good work. They were doing core exchanges.

They are honest and family ran...

Ive done a few C1's. Reuse the original and rechrome as much as possible. The fit will be better/easier. But some of the stuff is sooooo much cheaper and is excellent quality its just hard to ignor the repro. i.e. grill, lens surounds, mirrors.
