Manifold Question

What was used on a 66 corvette 327/350hp intake manifold between the cylinder head for a sealant? A gasket or silicone, and if it was a silicone what would be recomended?

GM used gaskets and so would I. I would also use a little premetex ainti freeze sealant around the water jackets

I never use the rubber gaskets that GM did . A bead of black engine silicone works great. After it sets up I trim it off clean with a razor blade .

They both work well when done properly. I have used both methods without trouble.
