Corvettes at SEMA
C2s and one C1 at SEMA this year. There might have been others, but these are the ones that i managed to find.
This 58 was my favorite. Outstanding attention to detail. I wish I could have taken a better picture of the custom engine bay panels.
Then there was this very nice and clean 63 split window. It was on a stock chassis.
Custom Hood Grilles
Custom Wiper Grilles
63 Convertible with a split window rear deck that i believe is being marketed for sale
Highly Customized 65 with an SRIII Chassis. I spoke to the owner of this car at length about how he built the car and I was very impressed.

Can appreciate all the work that went into them but I would never want one

Your a restomod hater, aren't you? Not sure about the other cars, but i know the 65 started out as a pile of parts.
It was a bit over the top for my taste. Some of the casings hid all of the time and effort that went into other parts.

Some restomods are neat. And I would drive one. But not these. These cars are just another over worked and engineered trailer queen

When I was restoring my 62, there was no end of people telling what I should do with my car. None of them brought money. Once I finished my 62, there is no end of people telling me what I should do with my car. None of them bring money.

Hey Chris. Great photos of really great looking cars. Keep up the good work on the 63 restomod. I can't wait to see it completed.

I like the tasteful way the 58 was done other than the wheels. 20" wheels are just too big for a vintage corvette. It would have looked better with 18'' wheels of the same style. The 65 is a bit over the top, which is SEMA style these days.

Man, tough crowd!!! Here i thought i was posting up pictures of some incredible builds that everyone would enjoy seeing. Shew, I'll make sure to brace myself for the comments on my own restomod builds.

You did what you intended with your photos. It is not your fault that some people have a myopic view that no car should be other than a factory stock, cookie cutter automobile. There is a market for other than the cookie cutter produced automoble. There are also modified, resto modded cars that have been built and driven to the limits by persons on this forum.
I can't wait for that test ride in the 63.

Im into a 65 for $125k and counting and have a 68 in the planning phases. Since Im building my cars to keep and drive, Im not so worried about other's opinions. If I was building one to immediately sell, I would build for mass appeal.

Chris,
Thanks for sharing the pics. The 58 is just awesome and the black C2 is a nice build as well. Even if none of these cars are your taste, if you take the time to look at them and appreciate the craftsmanship it takes to create/build them its hard to not like something about them.......of course, if you have no creativity or fabrication skills and can only bolt stock parts that you purchase together with the help of an assembly manual...I guess its easy to hate on them.

Looks to me like those cars were built for SEMA so I'd argue they are being used exactly as the owner's intended.

People seem to forget what they hopefully were taught when they were younger. If you can't say anything nice, it's best just not to say anything.
Yes but you know as well as I do that these cars will never be driven or be pushed to the limits that they were built for.
Chris, thanks for posting, those are some awesome cars.
