Welcome to the CF. Post the alpha/numeric info from the front engine pad and the casting number from the back of the block. That will tell exactly the application and what you have and how correct it is. Dennis

Either post a photo of the front block pad or tell us exactly what's stamped on it, and what's the block casting number (on rear flange of block behind driver's side cylinder head)? You haven't given us anything to go on.

Larry, please have an adult answer our questions, and do what JohnZ said to do. Post a photo of the front block pad or tell us exactly what's stamped on it, and what the block casting number is (on rear flange of block behind driver's side cylinder head).
Or,

Let me try this. Larry, there are many more factors to the "correct" engine than just the suffix of the assembly stamping....your "HE" as you deacribed. There are casting numbers, casting dates, assembly dates and VIN stampings. Also, you will get 100 different opinions on what "correct" means. So , as stated above, we need more info. I know its a pain to post photos, but like others said, just give us all the numbers and we can help. The casting number of the block is on the drivers side where the bellhousing would bolt to the block. The casting DATE is on the other side.
I hope this helps all of us.
