The Problem:
for several weeks the car started to "buck" as if it were running out of fuel during normal driving and the engine would quit. The problem got worse when the brakes were engaged. On a hunch, i filled the gas tank to full, that cured the issue temporarily. During the stall, if i stepped on the gas peddle, I would here a vacuum-type sucking noise. Im pretty sure that was coming off the Carb that was empty of fuel.
1. we replaced the Carb with a new Holley, did not solve the problem.
2. we removed the gas tank sending unit, was checked and is working properly.
3. Next we will replace the fuel pump. (NOT YET DONE)
has anyone experienced this type of problem, and, if so, what was the fix?
Does the car start right back up when it stalls? Check for spark and fuel when it won't start. Then search for what is missing. Much cheaper and efficient method than just replacing parts.

I'm with Tampa Jerry, have seen a few with a non vented gas cap causing stalling and running out of fuel concerns. Leave the gas cap loose and road test it to see if it still happens.
