Well I decided to do it this morning. See links in Post #29 here...
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1585926840-post29.html
I'm workin' on a R & R windshield, frame, rubber seals, etc tutorial. Step by step all the way with dozens of pictures, tricks & tips, etc for all of you DIY'ers.
I hope to have it on my website pretty soon, probably after Mecum/Kissimmee next week. I'm also going to want to get it in a pdf for some good paper bathroom reading.(not for wiping please)
....a little sample of some pics. I was thinking of doing a video but I'm camera shy.

Very worthwhile project Rich - there seems to be piecemeal articles on the topic but no real end-to-end pictorial account of the process...by an expert...

I agree with Frankie.
Having done a few articles myself I know it is a lot of time and effort.
I feel they were worth producing to help fellow hobbyists.
I am looking forward to the finish article.

I just finished the re-assembly, except the top header trim which I like to snap on when the frame is back on the car with a few T-bolts snugged up.
It slowed me down a bit taking pictures and thinking about curious steps and some tricks but worth it. I may need to review the pics for the next one I do!
A little payback for the stuff I've learned from lots of folks here and other forums too. I remember the first time I did a windshield back in '86 and a soft top the following year. Hours on the phone over many calls with guys like Joe Calgano and others. What a great comms tool we have these days.

p.s. Joe, my pleasure.. after your help with my refresher on the ST frame and top a while ago. Frank, learned a bunch from you too, you don't give yourself enough credit, plus my Mustang for the Austria search hero. Bill, good stuff too. You've been around these for some time and I picked up lots from you while lurking and searching around.

In your tool selection I don't see a pair of 9" fingers to install the rear nuts onto the cast post.
I solved that problem by using a universal socket with an extension placed up thru the courtesy light hole. A regular socket with an universal will not work. (Use 1/4" drive socket)

What's a SS700???? Oh, a 7 speed? Sure. I wish I still had that '63 PG coupe. I'd put one in that.

Bill,
I had my shoulder done about 4 months ago and it is getting better slowly. Had a bone spur, torn rotator, torn bicep tendon and a torn bicep muscle. Lucky for me the hardware they used is all biodegradable, really it gets absorbed into the body. I have some pictures I will post later.
You look like you will have some permanent souvenirs.
Now the key is doing the physical therapy.
The restriction of 5 pounds lifting max for 6 months sucks. I can hardly pick up a good sandwich.

Rich,
I found that a good rubber mallet was necessary to assemble the windshield post's to the top header.
Did you have to use one, or did you use a different method.

Over a beer at Mike Terry's tent - its a deal!
Just kidding folks and I was just on the verge of posting the pics of my prostate surgery for everyone's enjoyment.
I try to keep things light on here anyway to derail a lot of the bickering that gets going way too often...
