I am finally having my 56 painted in about 2 weeks but need some help with paint codes as I have not been able to see anything online that anyone can make. I need a paint code for the venetian red for my interior pieces. I have only been able to locate some old codes for ppg and dupont but was told that with the new base coat paints those codes will not work and they are trying to match a piece of the original vinyl to paint chips in a book. I really don't want to do it that way as I don't think it will match the original red. Does anyone have a good paint code that I can use for my base coat clear coat job. I find it hard to believe that they can't make the right color with the amount of 56-57 Vettes that are restored and painted red. Thanks in advance for any help.
Thanks for the input on this. I did get those same codes from that site and they were the codes that they told me they could not make anymore. I guess I will be trying to match the color. The car is going to be silver with white coves. I just need enough red to paint the dash pieces and steering column.
With so little that needs to be painted, maybe someone out there has some left over from a prior restoration that they would be willing to sell it to you. Worth a try. Good luck.
