Default Glass question

Is laminated glass original?
How can you tell original glass from correctly date coded replacement glass?

Date coded glass… on the original glass the date code is sandwiched between the layers of glass, and the reproduction glass the date code is etched on the surface layer.

I was told laminated glass was not originally used on 66 vettes. That they used tempered one piece type glass? Correct??

All windshields were laminated.

All side glass was tempered single pane.

If you're really after ORIGINAL glass, you may be able to find what you need (used glass) at J.T. Piper's in Illinois, but you'll pay through the nose for it. Most people who need reproduction dated glass get it from Pilkington or Auto City.
