I;'m trying to find my old 67 Vette. The VIN is: 194377S122800
It's a blue./blue fastback last traded in about 1974-75 to a military indiv in Hopkinsville, KY. Traded for a 72 TR6 when gas went to $1.00/gal. Really stupid I was...
Can anyone help me??

Mecum should have a record of the buyer. I would provide them with your contact info and state your intentions. They probably would not disclose the buyer's info but may contact the person who purchased it on your behalf. They may no longer own it. They may contact you. Is it your intention to buy it?
Yes, I'd like to buy it back, fix it up, for posterity. I have alot of memories. Had it prior to me being drafted and entering Flight School. I drove it quite a bit and had about 67k miles when I traded it. I'm hoping that whoever has it may be interested in selling and for obviously, a reasonable price. I'd like to leave it to my Grandson. (Good OVERHAULIN story eh?) I've contacted Mecum and am awaiting an answer. Thanks for all your GREAT help. If you care to leave me your email, I'll keep you posted.
1. go to http://www.add123.com/
2. Enter the VIN and click "search vehicle history"
3. On the new page click "search"
It will tell you they DO have a record. (I checked that much). Agree to "terms of use", and pay them $4.95. They will email you title info which will include what state it was last titled in, date that it was titled, and any "brands" such as salvage title etc. It will NOT tell you who the owner is or what location in that state they live, but it is SOMETHING.
Thank you last sender. I am getting closer. The car was last titled in OK in 2009. You're correct, they do not tell me who the current owner is. If there is anyone out there, especially in Oklahoma that may be able to help me that would be great. Maybe a Chapter of an org that may know something? To all: I appreciate everyone's help in this matter. It's really important to me.
My contact in Western Oklahoma Corvette Club suggests you contact Corvettes Of Enid, Central Oklahoma Corvette Club, and Non Club of Oklahoma City, all of which should show up on Google. Ask each of them to check their membership.
We'll find that thing yet! Whether or not they want to sell may be another matter, but most likely the owner will be happy to hear from a previous owner of the car.
Thanks Railroadman and all... I've sent emails to all the OK vette clubs. Yes, maybe someone knows something. The more people like you all that are looking for me the better chance I have of locating it. Thank you all very much.. My email is: flapropinsp@earthlink.net if someone turns up something 'hot'.
I hope you find the car and weather or not you get to buy it back, well at least you found it and maybe some day if the owner decides to sell you will contact you first. Good luck and keep us posted as to the outcome.
To HS Vette: Thanks for the tip. MECUM told me the reserve was not met and did not sell with a high of 53k, soooo, I'm still looking. It's somewhere out there but I don't see it for sale on any of the internet sales sites.

PLEASE ALL, keep looking for me. Thanks.
Make sure you bump this to the top along about April or May when weather is more conducive to Vette-togethers and cruising - if you have not found it by then.
Did or would Mecum tell you who put the car up F/S? Maybe that person still has it or at least the may be able to tell you who they sold it to. Worth a shot.
I know the auctions up here in Ontario will have the car still listed on the website for sale
so if you check the action site,,, with the date of the auction... you might be able to buy it at the sellers reserved bid... im pretty sure they will not give you info on the seller because they loose $$ if it sells
Mike: Mecum would not tell me who the Seller was and since it did not sell, don't know where it is now. I placed an ad in the ACC classified and even talked to Keith. I even wrote F40 motorsports, Chasing Classic Cars, asking for help but they never answered. I have also checked websites 'For sale' but haven't located. Probably sitting in some guy's garage. I believe it's somewhere now in Il.
